What is
box wrapping?

Wrapping means bonding materials together.

A liner, or outer paper, is glued to a rigid board under pressure.

In some cases, the box can even be wrapped on both sides, so it is covered in your chosen material inside and out.

Wrapping paper is usually lighter than the board and looks attractive: it comes in your chosen colour or carries a printed design.

This lets you create packaging with a distinctive design that matches your brand colours or overall packaging concept.

Frequently
asked questions
about box wrapping

  • What paper do you use for wrapping?

    We mainly wrap boxes in speciality paper and some types of board, including laminated board and kraft. Printed paper is also an option. All of these are glued to a greyboard base.

  • What colours can I choose for wrapping?

    You can choose speciality paper from our range, which offers a wide choice of colours and textures. If you want something special, we can print the paper in your chosen Pantone shade, or print ornaments, images, patterns and more.

  • Which boxes can be wrapped?

    You can order wrapped boxes of many types from us. This finish suits any box style: lid and base boxes, magnetic closure or ribbon closure boxes, drawer boxes, Ego boxes and even round boxes.

  • Can collapsible boxes be wrapped too?

    Yes, collapsible boxes can also be wrapped. We glue paper in your chosen colour or print to the board, following the shape of the collapsible box blank.

  • What types of wrapping can I choose for a box?

    Boxes has all the equipment and specialists needed for different types of wrapping. We wrap boxes on one or both sides, and also offer duplexing and turned-in edges.

  • How does wrapping work?

    First, the components are cut out of the board and the liner. Glue is then applied to the parts and they are pressed together. We check every stage to make sure the materials are bonded reliably and neatly.

  • What sizes can wrapped boxes be?

    Any box size we make can be wrapped in printed paper with patterns, prints or images. If you would like custom boxes in textured materials or speciality paper, keep in mind that these materials often come in limited sheet sizes, so we will confirm the available box dimensions for your chosen material during the consultation.

  • Will the wrapping stay firmly in place?

    Yes, we use professional pressing equipment to bond the two sheets firmly. We also use high-quality adhesives, so the components stay securely bonded and do not delaminate while the boxes are in use.

Wrapped boxes for branded packaging: what makes this method special

At Boxes, we specialise in making paper-wrapped rigid boxes. The process involves bonding two materials under pressure to reinforce the box and give it the look you want. Wrapping offers a lot of possibilities, so you can order boxes of many types, sizes and designs from us.

How a box is wrapped

Wrapping lets you create boxes in your chosen colour and with a printed design. Bonding also makes the box stronger and more durable in use. The process follows a set technology with the following stages:

  1. Artwork. Our designers create artwork to your brief: they select the materials, place the image to be printed and wrapped on the artwork, and design the structure.
  2. Die cutting the components. The components are cut to the right dimensions, so the custom box fits your product.
  3. Applying the glue. The board and the liner are placed side by side, and glue is applied where they need to be joined. The box can be pre-assembled from the main board, which is then wrapped in the outer material.
  4. Pressing. The two materials are pressed together for a strong bond. Some areas are also folded and glued by hand for a finer finish.

You get high-quality, firmly bonded boxes that can be used to package a wide range of products: clothing, equipment, tableware, children’s products, cosmetics and more. You can also choose printed images to create bright, attractive gift boxes for holidays or events, or corporate gift boxes.

Types of wrapping we offer

We make wrapped boxes using different bonding methods. You can order:

  1. Single-sided wrapping. Speciality or printed paper is glued to the outside of the box only.
  2. Double-sided wrapping. Decorative material is glued to the outside of the box and also lines the inside. The two materials can be different, in different colours.
  3. Duplexing. Two thick materials are glued together to make a denser board. The join is invisible, so it looks like a single material.

Order wrapped boxes from Boxes, and we will choose the best finish for your design. You can also add your logo to the wrapped board with hot foil stamping or blind embossing.

Why choose wrapped boxes

Wrapped board:

  • is highly durable;
  • is moisture-resistant;
  • makes the box strong and reliable;
  • works with any design.

Wrapped boxes protect their contents reliably, so your products stay safe in transit and in storage. You can also choose any design: if you need branded packaging for your products, we will create a box to your own design, wrap the board and make durable boxes.
Order box wrapping from Boxes to decorate and reinforce your packaging, and get high-quality boxes in the sizes and brand style you need. We take all your requirements into account, produce your boxes on time and deliver them across the EU. Get in touch to discuss the details of your order.
