Flowers in a box: a trend for special moments

Flowers have always symbolised tenderness and love, making them a cherished and beautiful gift for any occasion.

Bouquets are a timeless classic, but they require the recipient to have a vase, which isn’t always convenient. A great alternative is flowers in a box. This packaging adds a unique, sophisticated touch to your gesture.

These stylish boxes have become one of the most popular trends in floristry, and they offer many advantages.

Every bouquet deserves a presentation that brings out its beauty and elegance. Round flower boxes are a stylish, practical solution that lets you create unique arrangements and delight your loved ones with beautiful gifts. In this article, we discuss their advantages, where to buy them and popular variations.

Advantages of boxes for flowers

1. Longer freshness: high-quality boxes help keep the bouquet fresh and attractive for longer. Floral foam (oasis) gives the stems enough nourishment and moisture. They work for freshly cut flowers, arrangements of fresh roses or any other favourite flowers.
2. Aesthetics and originality: cardboard boxes let you create extraordinary combinations that bring out the beauty of every bloom. They make refined, stylish packaging for your gift.
3. Practicality: the bouquet is held securely, so you don’t need to worry about it in transit, and it is protected from accidental damage. Modern materials are durable, so the box keeps its good looks even after repeated use. And there’s no need to look for a vase.
4. Versatility: they suit almost any occasion, whether you want an understated or a vibrant arrangement. They make a good gift regardless of gender or age.
5. Plenty of choice: decorative gift packaging comes in different shapes, sizes and colours, with a variety of embellishments. You can choose the one that fits your concept perfectly.

What to consider when choosing a flower box

• Style and colour: choose a box that goes well with the flowers. For instance, round red, purple, black or white matte boxes with silk ribbons are perfect for crimson roses, while rectangular pastel boxes work better for irises, lilies and orchids, creating a striking contrast in the arrangement.
• Bouquet size: choose a box size that suits the volume of the arrangement so that everything looks attractive. Ideally, the blooms should form a kind of canopy when the lid is open. A single flower can look sparse and inconspicuous, whatever its type.
• Event and theme: think about the event where you will present the gift. Choose packaging that complements the atmosphere and style of the occasion. Avoid overly bright options that might overshadow the bouquet.
• Recipient’s preferences: try to find out what the recipient likes so you can choose something they will genuinely love.
